Jean Dominique Volcy
Jean Dominique Volcy is a natural born talented artist. His passion for art started at a very young age, with his elaborate drawings and watercolor paintings. Volcy’s paintings capture the essence and depth of many aspects that we experience in our life, personifying beauty through a definite sense of color, form, and balance. He achieves his aim aesthetically, as if his art were a large lyre of colors and light, solemn music translated in harmonious shapes. It also transmits a message of love, peace, and hope. For the past forty years, Volcy has participated in many exhibitions in the metropolitan area and abroad in venues such as The Brooklyn Museum, The Bronx Museum, and The Restoration Center for Arts & Culture, to name a few. He was commissioned in 2000 to create a piece for that year’s census to represent the Haitian community in New York State.
