Gabrielle Shira Broome

Gabrielle Shira Broome is a multidisciplinary visual artist currently based in her studio in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. She was born in Manhattan (2000).

She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Religion.

Within her practice, she creates worlds informed by tradition, text, spirituality, sensuality and surrealistic fantasy. Along with working in acrylic and watercolor paints, she includes meditation and creative movement as part of her practice. She uses her studies of the inner mystical dimension of the Jewish teaching to influence her art work. She also sources imagery from spiritual and communal ritual experience relating to Jewish holidays.

She has exhibited both in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, PS1; in Miami in the Young Arts Jewel Box; in Jerusalem and Los Angeles at the University of Southern California's religious center, where her paintings are permanently installed, and more.

Along with her art practice, she works as a teacher and art care provider to bring creative healing and open up the voices of others.
