Utility Defects is a series that consists of large scale sneakers made from recycled and upcycled materials. I’ve been fascinated with deconstruction since youth, and I pride myself on developing concepts for a culture that appreciates sustainable design. By tapping into my artistic ability to transpose different raw materials, I’m attempting to recompose the concept of sneakers by interpreting their functionality as a bionic mechanism with the ability to improve performance. Amplifying the idea that sneakers are more than a resource, it’s a movement, it’s a culture.
