Elton Tucker
I see my talent as a gift from the Creator and something to be cherished and shared with others, I feel my mission is to produce art that people can relate to get inspiration from and utilize in their everyday lives.
Elton Tucker is a native New Yorker and a full-time artists and teaches Arts and Crafts to children of all ages at a New York City after school program. Art is his passion. You can see this in the energy that moves through his work. As a native New Yorker, he travels around the city constantly looking for interesting colors, textures, shapes and Life's emotions. His vibrant paintings are full of bold patterns, spirited energy and movement. A graduate of the High School of Art and Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology and also Studied at the Art Students League of NYC. Elton's work has been exhibited in numerous groups and solo shows, some of which inlcude The Audubon Artist, Noho NY Artwalk, Leslie Lohmna Museum, Chashama Film Festival, Taller Boricua Gallery, Savacou Gallery, The Harlem State Office Building Art gallery, Lincoln Hospital Art Gallery and The West Side Arts Coalition.
His work has been published in the New York Daily News as well as in various greeting cards, calendars and book covers. He has also illustrated for Women's Wear Daily. Tucker's painting "Believe in Yourself" was featured as part of the set design on the Whoopi Goldberg Show. His commissioned works are murals for the Ruth Williams Dance Studio, The St. Benedicts Day Nursery and The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Memorial Community Center. Some of his many awards include the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority Award. The Noho Business Improvement District Award, Artist Fellowship Inc, and the Harlem Renaissance Cultural and Living Legend Award.
He is also a member of the West Side Arts Coalition, The Audubon Artist and the Harlem Arts Alliance.
