Beverley Watson
Watson is a ceramic sculptor, art therapist, and small business owner, providing services to children with special needs. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and has been based in Bedford Stuyvesant for more than 35 years. Beverley pursued her college education at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and earned her BFA with highest honors in Fine Arts. After teaching in the NYC school system, where she was a strong advocate for inclusion of the arts in schools, she returned to her passion, creating with clay. Beverley describes herself as a conduit through which ancestral energy flows, and believes her work expresses many aspects of her life’s journey.
